Ambassador of the Salvation Army and co-ordinator of the event Rob Heaslip said the Salvos do so much in the local community assisting the vulnerable and this event would raise much needed funds.

“I know and understand times are tough and many businesses are feeling the pain,” Rob said.

“This is reflective with ever increasing demand within the community for assistance from the Salvation Army

“Homelessness numbers are on the increase and there are many families who can’t afford to pay for critical services such as power and water and even put food on the table!

“Many local children are going without food and the bare essentials, including clothing and hygiene products. This is where, hopefully,  you can assist the local branch of the Salvation Army and attend the luncheon.”

On June 14, Rob has organised two significant guest speakers.

“You will be amazed by their true life stories,” Rob said.

Allen, will pass on to those who attend, his story and how the Salvation Army helped him survive through his tough times.

Mark Hutton, known in America as the Crocodile Dundee of Australian Baseball, will tell his story of how a South Australian lad made it to the big time, pitching for the New York Yankees.

“Please be aware that we are aiming for 120 capacity, so I do suggest to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment,” Rob said.

“As a proud ambassador for the Salvation Army, I appreciate your assistance in advance, by inviting your friends, staff and business associates.

“Get a table together and support the local Salvation Army who provide valuable support to the local community.”

The luncheon starts at 12noon at $50 per person, which includes a two course meal and the guest speakers.

There will be auction items and raffle prizes on the day.

All proceeds go to the Salvation Army, Victor Harbor to support local families in need.
