South Australian tourism businesses are able to apply for a grant through the Experience Nature Tourism Fund from Monday, July 8.
The $2 million fund is set to give tourism businesses a chance to bring nature-based ideas across the region to life.
The program runs over four financial years and offers a funding pool of up to $500,000 per year.
Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison said it was important to share the state’s natural and historical wonders.
“We are now at the halfway mark of this important fund, with two of the four available rounds allocated,” she said.
Thirty-three nature tourism experiences across South Australia have been supported to date.
When round three of the fund opens, grants from $10,000 to $50,000 will be available to improve and create nature tourism experiences.
Previous projects that were awarded grants under the earlier two rounds included accommodation renovations, purchases of tour related vehicles, and marketing support.
“This is a great opportunity for operators wanting to enhance or develop a nature-based tourism offering that will deliver an experience in our natural environment,” Ms Bettison said.
Applications open on Monday, July 8, and close Friday, August 16.
